Range voting still has its issues - every voting methodology has some issues - but range voting pretty well dominates plurality voting IMO.

Could you kindly let participants here know why your opinion has become that support for range voting? What issues did you consider along the way that you think are worthwhile for us to consider as we ponder which voting methodology to support in the various places where we live?




The short answer is that plurality voting is a scoring method (give one candidate one point) and so has all the weaknesses of a scoring method, and it is a rank-order method (which only considers the top) and so has all the weaknesses of a rank-order method, and it isn't very expressive. I intend to put together a more complete answer at some point.
