Cool, nothing better than a discussion about which editor to use. Of course you could learn vi in five years.



'Editing' is just one tiny subset of what Emacs does[1] and vi competes with that part well. But why is vi brought up whenever Emacs is discussed?

I'm a VIM user and I always like the cool things Emacs users can do, even though I'll never use Emacs.
