We Are (@Coin)

A stealth YC W13 consumer electronics hardware company. Our current small team is made up of actual rocket scientists and veterans in the design community. We are seed funded by several silicon valley VCs such as Greylock, K9, Redpoint and SoftTechVC.

You Are

-Able to work independently

-Of a builder's mentality

-A problem solver

-Experienced in Mobile (show us your apps and/or github account!)


The Plan

Work in our SOMA San Francisco office with the rest of the team. The atmosphere is casual and we are known to take periodic go-kart breaks.

You Will

Be working as a member of the team. A few of the major projects you’ll start on are our mobile app and our website.

        Application development in Ruby-on-Rails (RoR)
        ActiveRecord advanced concepts (e.g. polymorphic association)
        Ruby background job frameworks (e.g. Resque)
        Server-side caching (e.g. memcached, Redis)
        Web services in Ruby (both SOAP and REST)
    Strong SQL skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL)

    Familiarity with the following:

A UI/UX, visual, graphic, or any other weird subtype of designer you’d like to call yourself. The bottom line is that you are affluent in photoshop and illustrator and sketch on paper frequently. Here are a few key points we are looking for:

Pride in work but no ego

Ability to scrap a design and iterate like a cheetah

Understanding of mobile user patterns across all platforms TYPOGRAPHY

Have a pulse on the web community - responsive design, @font-face, etc
