It's rather smaller than the Sun, so the total energy output is rather less.

Not to mention the surface of the sun is not that hot (around 5000C)

The interior of the sun however is a different story (around 1.57*10E7 K per Wikipedia)

Interestingly while the surface of the sun is rather cool, the corona (the region 'above' the surface) is much hotter, getting up to 10M degrees C.

This is a phenomenon of some interest, since it intuitively seems like the 2nd law of thermodynamics should prevent this from happening: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corona#Coronal_heating_problem
