Appwrite just launched front end hosting: an open-source Vercel alternative?

Appwrite just announced a new product called Sites, which adds frontend hosting and SSR support to their already open-source backend platform. You can now host both static and dynamic sites (Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, etc.) on Appwrite alongside your backend functions, database, and auth.

Appwrite is positioning it as a 100% open-source alternative to platforms like Vercel and Netlify, and it supports both cloud and full self-hosting.

The idea is: instead of using Appwrite for backend and something like Vercel/Netlify for frontend, you can now do everything in one open-source platform.

As a member of the Appwrite team, I'd love to hear your thoughts about this. https://appwrite.io/products/sites
