I built a physics-based sheep battle royale to unwind–and it kind of exploded

Last month, I needed a break—from work, from deadlines, from reality. So I started tinkering with a silly idea: what if battle royale, but with exploding sheep?

That late-night thought spiraled into Crazy Cattle 3D, an indie game where 100 woolly rams slam, slide, and detonate across three absurd terrains—from Irish hills to Icelandic icefields to volcanic New Zealand chaos.

The twist? It’s all physics-based. Every movement, collision, and launch is calculated, making gameplay more about momentum and timing than reflexes. Most players get knocked out in the first 30 seconds. And 90% hit "play again" instantly.

It’s weird, chaotic fun, but also taught me a lot—about game loops, 3D collision, and how something stupidly simple (like sheep rolling downhill) can turn into an addictive gameplay mechanic.

If you need a laugh—or want to see how far one person can stretch the concept of "battle royale"—give it a spin. No installs. Just chaos: https://3d-crazy-cattle.org

How do I win? I keep loosing when I hit another sheep.

Which button is that?

I played a few games. The important part is to learn how to use A and D in a collision to avoid falling down, but I had no time/patience to learn that. So I had like a 50% chance to die in each collision. So my strategy was to hide in a corner and wait until there are only a few sheeps left, and then try to be lucky only in the last few collisions.

It's important to reward the fun strategies. My recommendation is to modify the sheep model to make it more stable in head collisions and less stable in side collisions. For example put the front legs closer and the back legs more open. Or something like that. You have to try it until the model gets more stable and the best strategy is to head the other sheeps.

Also, when there are only 10 sheeps, they chase each other in circles, A to B and B to A, C to D and D to C, ... It would be nice to make the bots get bored and choose a random sheep to go after, to break the circles.

that's crazy, the game has been all over the internet for months now.
