Current title "Japan orders Google to stop favoring Google Search, Chrome on Android" is better.

At this point even if search and browser were completely neutral choices on Android it wouldn't change things much. Search is even losing relevance to LLMs.


This is only for people who don't really care how correct the search results are...

The thing Japan's FTC was worried about was a bit of a mystery to me.

A search app? One doesn't start a browser and go to a search page?

Sorry, I don't run the goggle malware, so I wasn't aware...


That's the thing with antitrust. They already did it, they already got the advantage. The penalties need to be enormous to reverse the advantage they already took
