I am definitely and odd one out here.

I have never ever paid for any TV service. Never had netflix, sky or any other advertising service.

I have not watched Over The Air TV for over 25 years. Its never appealed to me.

Thats probably saved me about £2,500 on TV licences.

Maybe its just a generational thing, but I never saw any benefits, or sense, in paying to brainwash my family watching banal TV shows and films.

There is so much more to enjoy in life rather tha staring at an advertising, brainwashing box.

In my practice as a psychotherapist I have seen far to many people over identify with soap opera characters and TV characters in general. People just cannot understand that the characters in soap operas are played by actors who are real people.

paid for TV

No thanks

And those ads.

There's just nothing compelling about paying for a cable subscription anymore. Though to be fair, there's not a lot compelling about a streaming sub either. I find myself mostly watching YouTube these days.

I moved to Canadá in 2007 and never had cable, it is expensive and with so much ads that's so annoying...I wouldn't watch even if it was free.

We cancelled our cable subscription 12 years ago and never missed it. We cancelled Netflix two years ago and don't miss it. Never subscribed to the others. When we built our new house 5 years ago, we didn't even run coax drops - opting instead for CAT6 Ethernet to every room.

Does that include offerings like Teksavvy TV and other ways to stream the traditional cable channels over the internet? It's not technically cable but it certainly includes most of its characteristics.
