Ask HN: Are anyone else's HN points mysteriously increasing out of no where?

Despite not posting in several days, and none of my recent comments changing points, my points are mysteriously increasing at a steady rate

Worried bots have figured out how to game the system etc

Maybe someone upvoted one of your earlier replies. It happens.

Time passing and upvoting by you adds to score slowly. So rate of change might be interesting, if it is non linear perhaps you could snapshot your comments posts and upvotes and see if your bot theory is visible as very old posts and comments being acted on somehow.

I just upvoted this post and your score was 819 beforehand.

Upvoted it from 820 to 820. Perhaps it's delayed and/or submission upvotes are worth a fraction.

50% I think, but I'm not certain.

It feels more logarithmic to me.

Did you comment on a story that went into the second chance pool?

Sometimes it can be a few days before they pop up on the front page and people see your good comments. Good luck.

Wow, it's never too late to find a HN secret link!

Maybe you got better at posting? :-)
