Stream | Golang Staff Engineer | On-site: Amsterdam/Boulder/Skopje (sometimes remote)

Stream (https://getstream.io/) provides APIs for building in-app chat, feeds and realtime video. We do this for over a billion end users, and thousands of apps such as Nextdoor, Strava, Gojek, Alfagift and others

Looking for Go engineers of all levels, and in particular staff and above. Also very happy to train people on Go if needed (https://www.reddit.com/r/golang/comments/1eiea6q/10_week_pla...)

Tech stack is Go, Postgres, Redis, RocksDB, Raft. We run an edge network of servers around the world for optimal video calling latency. Fun part of the job is the high scale and focus we place on engineering.

fake opening.

you are looking for over a year and I know for a fact you rejected multiple engineers with 10+ years of experience after only seeing the CV without a single interview

Applied last month as I was moving to Amsterdam and found it interesting they were advertising here. 10 yoe, currently at Google, no Go and no streaming experience, got rejected without interviewing, thought I was lacking the proper experience, thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Same. 10+ years of experience writing FAANG-scale systems software. I don't want to go much into details but I also either tick or heavily exceed other skills they are looking for. Yet, I also got rejected without a single interview.

I actually had an interview with them months ago, so they do interview people.

actually we're hiring faster than ever before. we have hired 10 engineers each quarter the last 2 quarters, and will keep that pace for the next 3.

and some of the hires we've made have never even used Go before.

Bullshit. Stop scamming people. Or tell your investors that this is not the way of increasing the visibility.

Why’d they put up fake roles though?

I have no thoughts on whether it's actually fake, but it can be to appear financially healthy / boost company image, to gather resumes, to gather information about the job market, to comply with internal policies that say jobs most be posted externally even when planning to promote internally, etc.

FYI, Your website (https://getstream.io/) is broken :-)

Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).
