It's quite concerning that they had at least two things go wrong at once, each without a backup plan. What happens now? Is something like an FAA investigation going to happen, or is SpaceX not under any kind of regulatory control in this regard?


These kind of missions are at your own risk and have no real regulatory control in the US.

They still had Gigabit Internet, TT&C and they could control the ship itself from the inside.

If the building is used for NASA launch, NASA will make them make the appropriate changes.
