I wonder what other fast food companies were using them? McDonald's is the only one I've seen in the news with an E. coli outbreak.

I read elsewhere that McDonald's has now put Quarter Pounder's back on the menu, but without onions. I'm curious why they didn't switch to using the onions that they use on their other burgers.

Sure, the dehydrated diced onions they use on all the burgers that aren't part of the Quarter Pounder lineup aren't as good as the slivered onions they use on the Quarter Pounder but I'd rather have those onions than no onions.




because they buy in such vast quantities. if they make a change like this demand will outstrip supply beyond any reasonable slack in the system.
