Hey HN, here Saul
After months of work ~7 months I created get-aboard, a tool to create onboarding / roadmaps for developers.
To give you some context: I'm a software developer since last 3.5 years, I've only worked for small / medium sized companies so far.
In all my jobs, I’ve noticed teams generally don’t have well-defined development processes as in large companies (at least that is what some friends told me). This is due to the agile culture involved on 1-10 devs teams.
For new developers (as happened to me several times) who join the team, onboarding can be annoying. You should start to know the tools they use: Do they use Jira or Asana?, What tech stack should I install?, Do they use Github, Gitlab, etc?, What do they use to communicate, Slack or Google Meet? In short, many things to configure before being productive.
That’s why I created get-aboard a tool to build onboardings as roadmaps. So, the main features are.
- Drag and drop nodes in the roadmap.
- Each node has an editor where you can insert descriptions, code, listings, Twitter Posts, YT videos, etc.
- You can share securely your roadmap with an auto-generated link.
- Navigation Panel, you can navigate through the nodes in an animated and cool way just by searching the title of the node.
I'm happy to show you get-aboard on Hacker News today, hope your sincere feedback.
