I have still not touched k8s yet, docker compose has been enough most of the time. Am I missing out?

You need docker swarm to do docker compose on multiple nodes right?

As soon as you touch swarm you're essentially playing with a k8s competitor.

You might consider k8s over swarm for standardization and community support (CSI, CNI drivers, operators, etc.)
