Same here for physics and astronomy. The relevant ones are on Mastodon and it is much better that using another corporate for-profit platform controlled by another billionaire techbro. Let's not make the same mistake again.
The AT protocol looks so self-centralizing compared to ActivityPub that I legitimately feel kinda dirty using Bluesky. The fact that the show is being ran by a for-profit doesn't help the vibes, either.
I was holding out some hope for it, even after the botched launch and their weird approach at rolling out federation, but after they shipped a centralized implementation of chats and seemingly declared did:plc "good enough", I'd completely lost faith in the project.
