I’m thrilled to share CoverLetter-GPT, a project that’s been a labor of love and a journey of learning for me over the past 3 months.
Why I Made It:
The idea for CoverLetter-GPT was born out of my own frustration with the job application process. Crafting unique, compelling cover letters for each application was time-consuming and often stressful. I realized that many others likely faced the same challenge, and I wanted to create a solution that could simplify this part of job hunting.
Development:
- Using GPT technology, I focused on developing a system that could generate personalized cover letters. This involved a lot of trial and error, especially in refining the AI’s ability to understand and produce appropriate text.
- Testing: I reached out to friends and colleagues for beta testing. Their feedback was invaluable in improving the functionality and user experience. Didn't do any unit testing as dint think it LL be necessary
One of the biggest challenges was ensuring the AI-generated content was both high-quality and relevant to each job application. Integrating features like tone selection and keyword optimization required significant fine-tuning.
