Upwork are removing RSS feeds

Just received this email from Upwork stating they are removing RSS feeds. I use them to ingest job posts and filter them by excluding keywords etc. to make it reasonable to find relevant jobs. There is no way I could do this on their website. I'll be exploring scraping their site instead but that will be fragile and use more bandwidth.

Email text:

We wanted to inform you that, beginning August 20, Upwork will no longer support RSS feeds. Because you’ve recently accessed an RSS feed, we want to give you ample notice to adjust your workflows accordingly.

To continue receiving real-time updates on jobs that match your interests, we recommend saving searches to your job feed. We appreciate your understanding, and will invest in additional new talent products and features with a singular goal: making it easier for you to find great work.

Well that sucks. Fortunately, there are apps that still allow you to generate RSS feeds like rss.app. OpenRSS.org may also be of interest, an organization built to fight against companies that get rid of their RSS feeds.

They're feeding personal RSS feeds?

A CPU killer for sure. Or completely unanonymous. Or... are they also ceasing providing HTML?

/snark and more serious: Is this through obfuscated URL or login?

Upwork is garbage anyway, everyone competing for $30/hour shit jobs.

I used to think that about all freelance sites but I've been able to find clients willing to pay reasonable rates.

Any recommendations to achieve that?

Look at what clients have stated as their hourly range or project budget and decide if it's reasonable for the work involved. Then look at what they've paid others in the past to get an idea of what they are willing to pay. Apply only if it looks worth it because we now have to buy connects to apply. Expect that most of the time you won't hear back because they got 50+ applicants and won't take the time to contact all of them.
