I have a liking to tech more specifically programming and linux. I have listened to the late night Linux and I love it. I am currently looking for chill podcast that are super authentic that talk about any cool stuff whether related to IT or not. It just has to be authentic
I'm a fan of the Soft Skills Engineering podcast. It's an advice show about all the non-technical parts of software engineering, and the hosts are very funny.
"Harry Potter and the First Time Readers" - it's nice to witness the first time impressions and discussions of others who haven't read the books before, since one can only read them first once. In the words of the podcast creator "living vicariously through the experiences of others" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrfj_-dbf28&list=PL61QMYRTGz...
Odd Lots, it says its about finance, markets, and economics but it's super broad. For example they have a really interesting episode about how the Ukrainian postal service operates during the war, interviewing the guy who runs it. Also lots about housing, power, etc (and of course hedge funds, AI, trading)
It's the podcast that made me change my mind about the entire category
Embedded - a podcast about making and loving gadgets. It is for hardware and software engineers, makers, and hobbyists.
No Such Thing as a Fish - QI researchers Dan Schreiber, James Harkin, Anna Ptaszynski and Andrew Hunter Murray share the most bizarre, extraordinary and hilarious facts they’ve discovered over the last seven days.
A Problem Squared - dedicated to solving problems of all kinds
Imaginary Worlds - an episodic science fiction and fantasy podcast that deconstructs the genres and their themes.
Twenty Thousand Hertz - stories behind the world’s most recognizable and interesting sounds.
Sidedoor - With the help of biologists, artists, historians, archaeologists, zookeepers, and astrophysicists, host Lizzie Peabody sneaks listeners through Smithsonian’s side door to search for stories that can’t be found anywhere else.
99% Invisible - a sound-rich, narrative podcast hosted by Roman Mars about all the thought that goes into the things we don't think about — the unnoticed architecture and design that shape our world.
Psychology of Video Games - Examining the intersection of psychology and video games
I don't think the podcast is super active anymore, but I've been going through a huge backlog of good job brain which is a general audience trivia quiz show type in the same style as NPR's wait wait don't tell me or ask me another.
Rational Reminder podcast for a highly technical deep-dive on all topics Investing & Personal Finance. They have interviewed multiple highly cited/influential Professors from leading universities.
