I do think it would be good to smack this place down, not only fans directly, but the creators if they are indeed committing fraud. At a certain level there is fantasy but if you're outright lying that should be met with some punitive damages.

It should be obvious for any normal person that consuming the media of pictures and videos is a fictional contrivance made for entertainment. Because we consume media all the time and understand the difference between news attempting to convey some information they believe is true and a movie that is there to entertain people. When you get into the idea of chatting with someone now it can get murky. Especially if you're paying and the person you're chatting with is purporting to be someone they are not. A reasonable person, absent any kind of disclaimer, would expect that the person they're chatting with is the person they're claiming to be.

Free speech protection does not extend to deception which can cause harm to another. I imagine if the creators had to slap up disclaimers everywhere their revenue would fall off sharply.
