The contradiction in CrowdStrike's statement of the cause

In this statement CrowdStrike says:

"The configuration update triggered a logic error that resulted in an operating system crash."

but then:

"CrowdStrike has corrected the logic error by updating the content in Channel File 291."

Both cannot be true. A logic error cannot be corrected by merely amending the trigger.
