We need everything in one place for our tools

Hey Hacker News, I’ve been working on this problem because time and time again I’ve had a mess of workspaces where you end up with 100s of tools and not a single workspace where it just all comes together and I don’t need to use so many tools.

I’m going to release an MVP where initially everything does come together with your existing tools, like a source of truth for all your tools so your whole team can see it.

But is this a problem you have, if so to what extent? And do you want to try out my MVP when I release the MVP (I’ll comment you the link when I do)?

Best, Imran

I'm not sure about putting all tools in one place. I'm using toolboxes, and I organize related tools together. For example, there's a toolbox with bike-maintenance specific tools only. One big tool cabinet with everything would be harder to keep organized, more expensive, and harder to lug around.

For context I mean software tools like Figma etc

This is a problem I have and I would like to solve it via some FOSS and offline-only solution, because a single source of truth of all my workspaces is not something I tolerate to be altered or lost or revealed to John Doe.

Sorry just so u understand the problem you have is that you want all your software tools like Figma etc in one place?

I want a flash drive which collects my files like .gitconfig .vimconfig with one click and if I do any update of those on any laptop, the flash drive is able to collect the changes. Also if I connect the flash drive to some laptop which was not used for a while, the config changes from the flash drive are replacing the old configs. Doing that with requiring connection to somebody else's computer aka "cloud" is too expensive, fragile and not private for me.

I don’t understand what you mean by a “workspace”. What’s the context? What tools are you talking about?

For context I mean software tools like Trello, Figma etc.

So to check I understand this right, you want a single app that includes functionality from all of Jira, confluence, figma, retool, GitHub, vs code, slack, outlook, miro, etc?

Or have I misunderstood?

Yes that’s correct
