DNS company files antitrust lawsuit against GoDaddy (domainnamewire.com)

Even if you use them as a registrar, why on earth would anyone keep using them for DNS instead of something that has a terraform provider like CloudFlare or Route53? There’s no barrier to switching.


Imagine your average Jane creating a Squarespace page for her restaurant. Do you think she knows what CF or Route53 is? This is the target demographic of these tools (what the plaintiff provides).

People please read the article before leaving a comment.


Being less informed isn’t really a reason for antitrust because the only lock-in is your own lack of very basic knowledge.

If your average Joe was unhappy with godaddy’s service they could do some research and switch pretty easily.
