Now that I've gotten some notifications, one suggestion:

The notification email's subject is always "New comments/replies on Hacker News"

This causes Gmail to sometimes combine them into a single "conversation."

So it would be nice if the notification email included the title of the post.

The title and original comment would be useful in the body of the message, as well.

Built a small web app that sends email notifications whenever someone replies to one of your comments or posts on Hacker News. Fails for me because (1) I have uppercase characters in my username and (2) HN usernames are case sensitive.

Thanks for the feedback! Funnily enough, initially I allowed usernames to be case sensitive because of what was said on this API https://github.com/HackerNews/API?tab=readme-ov-file#users .

But after feedback (https://news.ycombinator.com/threads?id=mmarian#40857404) and self-testing (https://imgur.com/a/MKoJHcj) I decided to make them case-insensitive. Now I need to revert back （─.─||）

Nice! It also sends notifications when someone comments on your submission. I don't think the other similar services do that.
