Show HN: I think I've built the most worthless SaaS on the internet (worthless.app)

I’m reminded of the “I am rich” App that did nothing except cost the maximum App Store price ($999.99 IIRC), or the Egg Salad kick-starter that raised some absurd amount of money. There are occasionally internet memes that generate funds as part of the zeitgeist. They’re often imitated in the moment.

I wonder if this is unique enough and with enough distance from the last one to engage people to part with their money.

Apparently the kickstarter was for a potato salad:

Ah, Whoops! Thank you for the correction.

This doesn't seem fully developed. You're missing AI and blockchain. Without that tier, you're not maximizing your nothing.

Might be the most worthless SaaS, but not the most worthless site. That would be the classic famous Zombo.com

https://zombo.com/

No. That would be a site that you visit from Google search results to read an article and then asks you for change to keep reading.

What are you talking about? You can do anything on zombo.com

On Zombo.com, the only limit is yourself.

I'm somewhat disappointed:

- You don't have a "free" option with a nefarious EULA for one thing. That needs to be there.

- Something something telemetry opt-out (but hey, if you opt-in, it actually works!).

- Discord. With a minimum of 10+ outdated text channels. No mods.

- An open source project on GitHub to empower devs with the option to self-host. That's always nice. Just make sure to leave enough spaghetti in there so that most people give up trying to get it running after a day or two. Probably doesn't hurt to "forget" a file or two from the private repo either, just to be sure.

Am i forgetting something?

I'd recommend removing yourself as the longest supporter and let others shine in the glory, I guess at least one person paid, right?

On a more serious note, how does this get featured on product hunt? Do they even check the app? Is there any bare minimum?

Honestly, I didn't know there's such thing as getting featured.

I've just made sure I check all the boxes in the launchlist :)

Seriously I cannot tell if it will prompt me to pay, or I ll get a "got you" page x)

It's absolutely real.

This "product" was heavily inspired by a recent visit to McDonald's with friends. As it turns out, it is possible to order a meal and take all of the ingredients out. All while the price stays exactly the same. So effectively, paying for nothing.

But where's the Careers page?

Good call. On it!

a support forum, weblog, facebook page, github

"Ask HN: Who's Hiring?"

Is there a way I can get more nothing if I am not satisfied with the lifetime plan?

Please contact the support and we'll come back to you in a 10 to 90 business days!

Hmm maybe it's time for me to build a Luxury SaaS

It's a bit too valuable for my taste.

Where's the Contact Sales option?

Are you hiring?

Ah unshackling NFTs from their chains!

Or a distilled version of reddit.
