A really beautiful design, from back when HP still did world-class engineering. I can still recall being blown away by the 64-way Assist Cache - which was just about a "Santa Claus and magic" cure for cache thrashing.


It's really sad that HP essentially committed suicide, by ceasing development of PA-RISC and HP/UX. They could have made a difference.
