Players and streamers speculate that it's a remote code execution exploit and that the r5apex.exe and EA servers have been compromised.
IMO it's more likely they were spear phished and had their machines compromised.
In any case, it's an interesting hack that I've never seen happen live in esports where a player is given aimbot or wall hacks as they are streaming on twitch.
As a warning, many of the explanations for what happened misuse technical terminology as if they were script-writers for NCIS :)
