Buy This Chevy S-10 EV Because Modern Electric Trucks Are Too Expensive (thedrive.com)

I still have my first car, a 1974 standard VW Beetle. It drives fine (because they're so damn simple), but definitely needs a full facelift and clean up one day.

I feel like I'm going to go in the direction of an EV kit when that day comes. I don't need more than 75-100mi range, just want to have a really simple little weekend cruiser.

There's cheap kits like this: https://electrek.co/2023/07/20/this-2000-kit-from-china-will...

Then you just have to spend like $20k on batteries from a wrecked tesla or something.

Myself I am looking at a used Nissan Leaf but I don’t see it happening until we redo the electricity in the kitchen and probably the panel for the whole house.

I got a used LEAF a few months ago, it’s got a new battery. Perfect fit for my urban driving. FWIW I’ve been using it only with 120V at home, and the occasional level 2 charge at work without issue.

30k is a awful price for a non working version. The Questionable Garage picked up one for 3.5k. Aging Wheels and some people who are EV1 collectors work on getting a S10 back running on lead batteries.
