So far most of the justification for mass layoffs recently has been that this is a correction from over-hiring during the pandemic. Is this also the case for newspapers?


I suspect newspapers are on a downward trajectory and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. I think most people are consuming the articles through some middle service like Facebook, and many people don’t bother to read more than a few lines.

So really you end up with very few ads to display to customers.



So when there are no editors, what do conspiracies say about who will control the message?


The lack of AI-centric conspiracy theories is so thick, you couldn't even cut it with a knife.
