Unrelated, but I find searching hackernews through google is much better. Especially because it also puts comments into search results


Algolia can search HN comments.


It depends, but I really like Algolia for topic searching

The html design is based on a big table tag.


If I had to guess I'd say HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
