Tell HN: ChatGPT's captcha are irritatingly time-consuming
2 points by unsupp0rted on Dec 22, 2023 | hide | past | favorite | 4 comments
I'm a paying Pro user of ChatGPT, and having to solve 5 captchas, each with 8 possible variations to choose from, is making me want to stop paying and stop using ChatGPT.

It's not so much that this is hard (although it's not mindless), it's that it's too time-consuming:

Can you even guess at first glance what they expect you to do here?

The irony is that solving the captchas is also probably training ChatGPT to solve them.

I have only gotten a captcha once from them, and not since. It was the normal "click on all the tiles that include a -whatever thing-" format.

why not use chatgpt to solve the captcha? joking aside, just another reason why Ai will not take over the world when ancient captcha technology like captchas can stop it

Happens to me a lot, too. I just switch browsers and it stops.

Get an API key and a front end app. Problem solved
