e/acc suffers from the same problems as Libertarian causes (not the big "L") - the proponents have a marketing and communications problem. e/acc is already a hard enough sell in the current ways that it is manifesting. But then the players involved are often seen as fringe.
VCs are not like normal people and do not communicate like normal people. Technicians (like many of us here) understand the intention but also struggle with translating it to the layman (my guess is this is also the reason bitcoin has yet to really have it's moment). In fact my SO, who is NOT a technical person, told me that AI/ChatGPT sounds just like Bitcoin in terms of "how does this benefit me". Then there's all the FUD (warranted or not) around it.
I say all this to mean that A16Z should also work to shape the message that their donees push. I don't know if I agree or like all the e/acc initiatives, but they don't seem to be doing a good job of selling it either.
