The fact that they claim to be "close to a fix" makes me think this isn't some obliterating change made by Apple. How long they continue the game of cat and mouse is a different question.
I suppose it could be a adblockers (or ytdl) vs Youtube situation. But it's hard to build a paid service on a cat and mouse game, particularly if fixes require new client updates, and the people you chat with can't even SMS you during outages.
