The term digital currency is merely a cover that is propagated for what I'm afraid will lead to some really bad things. For one, we already have digital currency. We can move money from anyone to anyone without actually moving paper. The technology is there, we don't need anything more.

Authorities all over the world want accounts to be centralised in one place so they have control over every single transaction that can happen. This will be a major pivot point for civilisation.
