> We cannot meaningfully explore space while borders exist on Earth.
Watch us do it anyway, while borders do exist. (Realizing how pessimist that sounds)
> We believe that the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the most horrifying, shameful thing ever done by humanity, to itself. Importantly, we believe that it will never, ever happen again.
How can you "believe" that? One can certainly hope and strive for it. Believing it sounds like, phew, glad that won't happen ever again! Which is naive to assume and believe, IMHO.
Fine, I might not be so optimistic about some of these points, I get it.
Why are all this techno-optimisitic writings and comments about exploring space...
are we done with earth yet?
Did we solve world hunger, poverty, equality and conservation of our biosphere already?
No, we didn't. Maybe, we should solve such topics first, before we reach for the stars.
Yes, we probably can do both, but all in this manifest seems to aim to only expanse the human space - not making it any better for the actual humans who live in that space (with the exception of improvements which are necessary for going to space).
Watch us do it anyway, while borders do exist. (Realizing how pessimist that sounds)
