Ask HN: What are some websites you feel good about?

What websites do you use thot you don't worry about having your personal data misused, or feel in a state of conflict with the owners or community?

(For me, I feel like most of the web used to be like this, but these sites are rare now. Lichess would be one example.)



Recreation.gov typically works well for me and doesn't feel like it's been enshittified much. Yeah, the private company gets a bunch of money for it, but IMO they did a really good job and made parks way more accessible.

Boardgamegeek is another one. The UI is terrible but the community seems awesome.

Steam. Valve is a great curator and caretaker, especially compared to the Epic or Microsoft stores.

Alltrails is very helpful too.

Happycow every time I travel, though I don't agree with some of their policies. It's not hostile, just a philosophical stance I don't 100% agree with.
