This mega corp nonsense just further supports using “free” streams and other less-than-legal-but-massively-better-streaming-products.

The quality of all of these services when it comes to just wanting to watch live sports easily is absolute bullshit. It’s not hard to find very good alternatives to pay for, it kills me that it’s so hard to just be able to officially pay to watch the sporting events I want to watch when I want to watch them. I’m perfectly fine paying for content. But no one offers the product without it being some fragmented bundle of crap I don’t want just to get the game I want.

This is a over week old. They struck a deal today: https://corporate.charter.com/newsroom/the-walt-disney-compa...

Just a note: Disney owned Hulu makes more per subscriber in its ad supported tier than its premium tier

I feel like Disney made it out of this ok. They are going to get a lot more signups on their ad supported tier and they still get the per user on the channels. This whole business is a sinking ship the question is where the life rafts are going.

Hard to feel sorry for Charter, pioneers of the model that sold the idea of ad-free television to viewers 50 years ago and slowly squeezed the American populace into a money extraction machine motivated by pure greed. If the entire business of both companies burned in a hellfire the entire world would probably be better off. There’s enough content in the world elsewhere to make up for it.
