Nissan is reusing batteries from old Leaf cars to make portable power sources

Cool, even packs with wear should be able to provide meaningful power in the load types you'd find in your home.

I have a tesla model S battery that has been sitting doing nothing for over 1 year and the voltage is only down half a volt or so (25.2V 6S).

Implementing a charge and discharge limit 20% above / below the min / max of stock ratings would probably make these go another 10 years IMO.
