Ask HN: Why can no school match the rigor of Carnegie Mellon(CMU) CS curriculum?

CMU consistently produces tremendously good engineers from their CS department/school. They have an extensive requirement for their CS degree : https://csd.cmu.edu/academics/undergraduate/requirements

Why does no other school focus so much on undergrad education like CMU does?

Pardon? What do you mean no other school does that? USA Today ranks CMU as tied with MIT, Standford, and Berkeley. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/computer-scien...

Coming in next are Cornell, Georgia Tech, Princeton, and the University of Illinois, also tied.

These are all excellent programs consistently producing tremendously good engineers.

Other schools are tops for other areas. Oregon State has a much better forestry program than CMU, for example.
