who/what do you turn to for consuming good-faith argumentation/discussion?
what i've always wanted is a community where people are able to coalesce on strong arguments for any given topic - steelmanning both Y, Y', Y'', and so on. but that is an abstraction of the underlying problem
specific examples are fine, but preferably this would just be
high-quality representatives, or more generally, just good-faith actors in society
examples:
- (a)theism
- political ideology
- gain of function research
- racism/anti-racism
etc.
discerning right from wrong is a valuable skill, but in my experience, i find it easy to settle into an echo chamber. i want to expand my thinking
Your best bet will be dusty old books that have "stood the test of time" but even that can be hard to digest.
