Ask HN: Recommend good-faith representatives for $opinion

who/what do you turn to for consuming good-faith argumentation/discussion?

what i've always wanted is a community where people are able to coalesce on strong arguments for any given topic - steelmanning both Y, Y', Y'', and so on. but that is an abstraction of the underlying problem

specific examples are fine, but preferably this would just be high-quality representatives, or more generally, just good-faith actors in society

examples: - (a)theism - political ideology - gain of function research - racism/anti-racism etc.

discerning right from wrong is a valuable skill, but in my experience, i find it easy to settle into an echo chamber. i want to expand my thinking

It is very hard to find now because politics has infected everything so very, very hard.

Your best bet will be dusty old books that have "stood the test of time" but even that can be hard to digest.
