The BYTE AI issue posted recently on HN was exemplary in terms of scope and interesting articles.
Like others here I particularly appreciated BYTE's magnificent understatement that "Some attributes of [the Xerox Alto] will be used in the next generation of personal computers."
BYTE even managed to include advertisements that were likely to be of interest to the magazine's readers.
I enjoy a couple of the (very few) surviving computing enthusiast magazines such as Linux Format, and I wish there were more of them - especially if they were like BYTE and its peers.
