Odd how the BBC seems to explain away the US's problems by detailing the US's relatively sparse safety net programs... while the UK experiences the very same problems, in spite of their relatively expansive safety net programs.
According to TFA, maternal mortality rate is double in the US compared to the UK. That both countries also have poorer outcomes for black mothers doesn't change the disparity between the two countries.
