Kind of a bummer that they built off of Dave's work only to sequester it away in /cockroach/pkg/util/json under BSL, rather than PR or fork with a friendlier license. Perhaps most of the changes only apply to cockroachDB, but at least a few of them could be more broadly applicable. I hope they reconsider.
