My dad died of melanoma metastasis not but 2 months ago. He always joked he would be the last guy to die of cancer, and while I am sure we missed that mark, the sentiment of “if he just held out for a year or two more he woulda made it” is quite strong now. I’ve seen a treatment for his specific cancer that is like 4x as effective, now this, all since he passed.
