Ask HN: Personal Asset Management

There was a recent thread that highlighted the difficulty people have in managing their digital assets to handover to a spouse or others in the event of their death. I think there's still a huge gaping hole when it comes to a product that manages all your personal assets. I was just curious to know if anyone knows of a product like that or if you have a process/collection of docs?

My asset management is basically all in my head. Not ideal but I never trusted password managers and I don't like the idea of writing everything down. I've just gotten to the point of doing it for general living expenses, bills and bank accounts but nothing else.

Get a couple of USB sticks. Format them with Veracrypt. Put instructions into a plain text README on one, and add whatever other files you need to. Copy all the stuff to the other one. Give the passphrase to a trusted friend to give to your spouse in the event of your death.

There is https://mygoodtrust.com

The product deals with most of the stuff you should take care before your death, including the management of your digital assets. Also, you can create your will and some other directives that might be needed.

I have my passwords in my password manager, but the passwords are not shared. apart from that nothing else is really documented anywhere.
