Ask HN: Are cloud services too complicated and clunky?

Hi,

I was wondering of solving this problem for startups and non technical founders of helping them get cloud services running without having little to no knowledge. Simple interface, simple APIs and documentation and tutorials. Everything is just simpler.

IMO it’s what I needed when I first started devleopment and working on startups and I think this problem persists but not much choice out there.

That'd be an abstraction on top of other abstractions.

Having worked on an MLOps platform that had to work with different cloud providers... GCP was a breeze to work with, AWS was a clusterfuck of a motherfucking mess, Azure didn't click and was immemorable, which could be a good sign.

I think a few VPS providers are on the same page as you. Linode for example has made it so one can click a button and deploy a set of fully configured applications on a VM. Perhaps their competitors could use your help in setting up something similar or maybe even easier.

I am glad to hear more people are working to solve this problem that means I’m not the only one that sees this problem.

Heroku is probably the most famous in this market but there are others too. None seem like the defacto winner to me at this point either. I think there is still room to build tools like this and add value.

I agree. I’ve been search and searching and there isn’t a good enough solution for a sorta no-code one or little to no code one.
