Twitter bans people they disagree with politically. Full stop. It's not about trying to protect people or police the community or other BS. People Twitter does not object to can say nearly anything on the platform. Saudi gov. Chinese gov. Russian gov. And many others spewing hate, division, and violence, etc. We all see it.
I have mixed feelings about JP's ban from Twitter -- I lean more on the side that it was an unjust ban; but I can't help but cringe listening to him speak about the ban. I get a very pompous vibe from him, and I think his almost needlessly complex speech pattern can really put listeners off to empathizing with him here.
That’s what happens when even the so called intellectuals decide to give this much power to a private organization.
I respect the body of work of Mr. JP, but I think that at his stage and given the current status quo, he and others should seek alternative and perhaps more independent platforms, otherwise they all are at the risk of being deplatformed.
