Preventing Loss Dot JPEG (computer.rip)

Worth the read just for the context around "A much larger problem with RFID than its satanic origins remains the cost of tags" alone.

I remember ads from IBM about 20 years ago where a guy walks out of a store with several items looking all shopliftery but cuts to an IBM-logo'd terminal where magic EAS tags have charged his credit card automatically.

I believe you're confusing /v/ with the basket of lunatics on /pol/.

Being the handle on a spade still means you're part of the spade

Should other sites with subforums be held to the same standard? Is r/GamerGhazi tainted by being on the same site as r/RedPill or whatever the hate-mongering subreddit of the month is?

Reddit's decided inaction on hate groups is a problem, yes

Wow, that is obscure!

I really thought this would be some convoluted way of having loss be detected by some sort of AI so you can prevent seeing it.

Yeah, "dot jpeg" in the title is what pushes it over the line for me

I subscribe to “computers are bad” newsletter, but didn’t get this one in the mail for some reason. Like always, fascinating, obscure, and dryly humorous. Thanks for posting it.
