Why is the title Designing Design System and not the grammatical Designing a Design System or Designing Design Systems?



Because it is acceptable to omit the article in book titles for brevity.


I realized: you’re thinking of news headlines in English. That doesn’t apply to book titles.

You could omit articles in chapter titles if you wanted, but it would change the tone of the ToC: Is this a rigid formal book (no articles) or an easy-to-read introduction (with articles)?


It's ungrammatical in English. If the title of a book isn't grammatical, what would a prospective buyer assume about the content of the book?
