I’ve been trying it out and this tool has been so helpful! Love the branding on your website too

Thank you

Be handy if it import my pocket data.

I like pocket, and I pay for premium, but it's really only link/content storage, it doesn't do anything smart so I am looking for an alternative that indexes/links the info in smart ways.

I plan to add a feature that will let you import your browser bookmarks. It looks like pocket lets you export to a similar format so it would be possible.

Hi HN,

I built Recall as I wanted a tool that could help me remember things (people, places, movies, products, etc.) that interest me which come up in daily life. Recall does this by allowing you to quickly create summarized notes with information from Wikipedia, Wikidata, IMDB, Goodreads, etc. The notes are automatically categorized and linked with related content you have already added.

I am keen to hear what you think of the tool.

this looks really cool! I like the card-based design and the idea of subscribing to news and creating links.

I'll probably give it a whirl :)

Thank you :)

How do you plan on monetizing this? It looks very useful and I would likely pay for it. I'd especially pay if everything is hosted locally and not shared with anyone

It will be freemium. So you can save up to 50 items for free after that you will have to pay 5 bucks a month (at least this is the plan for now).

Your data is stored locally in IndexedDB and backed up to a database on the server. We do not share it with anyone.

needs a browser extension or bookmarklet to let you add external data to your wiki (add to pocket / save to instapaper / add to evernote etc)

Is it open source?

nope
