Ever since it was published this remains one of my favorite things on the internet. I'd recommend Jon Bois' other work with SB Nation as well, see the Tim Tebow Chronicles[1] and Fighting In The Age Of Loneliness[2]

[2] should go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oNB6tlSZ2A&list=PLJw7wecE-2...

His series Pretty Good is also fantastic, and I really hope he resumes it sometime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doZzrsDJo-4

thanks, I don't know where that link went

This is absolutely one of the best pieces of art on the internet and forever worth a repost.

Please explain why. I thought it was tedious, and I don't understand why it's on the front page. So please enlighten me so I may enjoy as well. Because I don't get it at all.

Not sure about best on the internet, but to me it just seemed like a unique way of telling a story and so I wanted to share it here. It sort of deviates from the regular methods people usually use in a way that’s hard to explain. I guess normally stories or articles start with some sort of a setup where the reader is given an idea of what’s going on so that the author can tell the story, but this one does not and tries to get you to immediately empathize with one of the characters by having you experience the crushing loneliness and confusion that they do.

That’s the best I’ve got. Maybe another user can chime in with something better or another perspective.

Thanks. I think I just approached it wrong.

It’s just a story, but told in unconventional means. Something like a web series.
